Dollar General savings can have several layers.
A regular sale can be useful on its own, but Dollar General also offers digital coupons, DG Cash Back, rebates, and account-based promotions through myDG.
The trick is understanding which savings work together and which ones compete for the same item.

One important stacking rule.
Dollar General currently says a digital coupon and DG Cash Back offer cannot both apply to the same item.
If both are clipped for an eligible item, the digital coupon takes priority and the cash-back reward is not earned on that item.
myDG puts the savings tools in one place.
The free myDG program gives members access to digital coupons, personalized offers, cash-back opportunities, and other savings. Digital coupons can be added to your account and applied when you enter the phone number connected to that account at checkout.
DG Cash Back works a little differently. You clip an eligible cash-back offer, purchase the qualifying product, and the earned DG Cash is added to your DG Wallet after the purchase is processed. That DG Cash can then be used toward future eligible in-store purchases.
How we’ll choose which Dollar General deals to share
We won’t post every digital coupon just because it exists. A useful deal should have a worthwhile final price, meaningful cash back, a strong rebate, or some combination of savings that makes the purchase genuinely interesting.
We’ll look at package size, quantity requirements, spending thresholds, expiration dates, account requirements, and whether the offer is a coupon, cash-back promotion, rebate, or simple sale.
We’ll also pay attention to the distinction between money saved immediately and value received later. A $5 reward for another purchase is useful, but it isn’t exactly the same thing as paying $5 less today.
